Why I Love Pinellas County
Pinellas County is renowned for its award winning beaches, spectacular sunsets, intense
displays of lightning, diverse species of birds and the nearly tropical climate.
Not one, but rather several beaches in the Tampa Bay area appear on “top-ten-beaches”
lists regularly. The sands are white and powder-soft to the touch.
Summer sunsets are often helped by colossal clouds left over from recent rains. The
towering clouds catch the changing colors of the sun as it dips behind the Gulf of
Pinellas County, Florida is known as the lightning capital of the United States.
Lightning strikes can be dazzling and the thunder that follows can be explosive.
Despite its intimidating force, nature’s electrical displays during a storm can also
be a wonder to behold.
The varieties of birds that live and which visit the Gulf Coast are a treat for bird
lovers and ordinary visitors alike. The Sand Hill Crane can stand five feet tall
and plenty of other birds in the area reach three feet in height. Night herons, Cardinals,
Jays and innumerable other birds grace the landscape in any given direction.
The beaches, beautiful sunsets, storms and birds all are found here for one very
good reason, and that reason is the climate. Warm and often-humid, the region enjoys
much of what is elsewhere found in the tropics. It makes a for memorable vacations
and enjoyable living for residents. Feel free to visit us here in Pinellas County,
